What is the purpose of suction filters?

The primary purpose of suction filters and strainers is to trap and remove impurities from the hydraulic fluid.

Mostly as a result of inadequate first cleaning, hydraulic fluid is quickly polluted. Because of this, fluid contamination is common immediately following the installation of new machinery. Metal flakes from the equipment could potentially harm the pump or other delicate system parts during the early “breaking in” stage. Pollutants and contaminating particles are captured by the filter or strainer when the process fluid moves through the system.
